Andy Shorts [PD0356]

Product Image

$12.90

These shorts are unlike anything else out there, even forgetting the phenomenal price. If you’re athletically built and looking for slim-fitting front-pocketed athletic shorts with a rare mid-thigh length, look no farther.

I’m 6’1” and 180 lbs. with a 33” waist, and I’ve been casually looking for white tennis shorts for months. Problem is, the brand names are trapped in 2007, selling the same old baggie knee-length (>9” inseam) togs. Sure you can find a few shorter shorts, but they remain stubbornly baggie unless you wanna drop $80 on a pair of Hydrogens.

Props to ClothingAndBeyond for their detailed descriptions of these shorts. They’re spot-on with the one exception that they list an inseam of 5-6” (depending on size) while my mediums turned out to be 7”. [Oh, and there’s mention of a “mesh liner,” which I took to be built-in briefs. Instead the mesh is the front pockets, which are short but as perfect for a tennis ball as described.]

The description also mentions “Asian sizing,” which captures the slim fit. Given the price and absence of a logo, I wondered about quality. But the woven poly twill turned out to be as soft, breathable, and sturdy as my old FILAs and the construction doesn’t miss a stitch.

I don’t know why C&B doesn’t mention the maker. Assuming there’s a reason, I won’t either. But it’s a European up-and-comer. And once I sussed this, I bought the last 3 mediums available in the Wal-Mart Marketplace (where I originally found these) because I’m obvi not the only one tipping to this deal.

And now I’ve tipped you. (And, for the record, while I’ve worked in the fashion industry, I have no affiliation with C&B. I’m just stoked my hunt finally found game.)
